Vintage WHITE NETTLE school chart JUNG KOCH QUENTELL BOTANICAL dead nettle bee

For sale here is an original vintage roll down school chart of. WHITE NETTLE - JUNG KOCH QUENTELL. Published by Frommann and Morian in conjunction with Hagemann, Dusseldorf, Germany around the late 1950s/early 1960s. This beautifully illustrated chart is of white dead nettle against a blue/grey background.

It is one of the few Jung Koch Quentell botanical charts to come on a light background as opposed to the usual dark colour. Printed on paper and backed with canvas, this chart has a black wooden dowel top and bottom. It has spent most of it's life rolled up in a cupboard so the colours are still fresh and bright. There is often light wear that comes with use on these charts.

This chart is not in great condition, there is some heavy wear across the top in the form of cracks, creases and wrinkles and there are creases from repeated rolling down the length of the chart. However if you can live with the wear you can pick this chart up for a little less than usual.

These old charts were produced as educational tools for schools and colleges by teacher Heinrich Jung, artist and biologist Gottlieb von Koch and college director, Doctor Friedrich Quentell. First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900's Hagemann became involved in the production around the 1930s first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963. You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones. These beautiful old school charts have been used as educational aids for the last 100 years or so.
