Frame / Steel, Wind shield / Glass. Seiko's original model, which is the prototype for the Lemnos "small clock". This was the first work designed as a product by Chikara Watanabe, who had created several handmade analog clocks.
It is rare to find the original "small wall clock" itself, but I think it is almost impossible to find a new one with a box. The perfect balance between the small size of the clock face (12cm) and the thickness of the frame (7cm) is perfectly matched with the strength of the thick straight lines, gentle curves, and cute ball terminal of the Clarendon font. I really enjoy how the Clarendon font is placed so that the "9", "10", and "11" are just barely big enough to touch each other, and it makes me feel positive and cheerful every time I check the time. It's also fun to see the "SEIKO" logo pushed a little to the right in the bustling Clarendon. This is a masterpiece by Chikara Watanabe, who brings out the full power of fonts such as the Caslon font and CBS Dido. Foreign Buyers - Please Note.
