94 Summer Tour Your Face! Or, maybe more like it --' Stained Glass Your Face! With not only a 13-Point Lightning Bolt! - but, also with a Rose!!
Wayne Damage design made exclusively for the 1994 Grateful Dead Summer Tour!!! This, at least to my eyes - is one of the Finest! Wayne Damage designs ever made for G.
Truly one of his very-coolest designs of all time. & Bold Circular & Diamond dye pattern, with some truly-striking color combinations all throughout - both the design images, and on the Tie Dye design! It's essence is straight to the point... A Bright & Psychedelic Steal Your Face! Image on the front in a Window Pane Stained-Glass type design!
Plus, just check out that' Brick Wall' like pattern on the Steal Your Face! Solid, just like the Band Folks... " Grateful Dead Summer 1994 " is written - not in a' Circle-Round-The-Sun', but instead around an eye-catching & bright Red Rose! Inside the same awesome Window Pane Stained-Glass look! There were just a few completely Incredible!
" Shirt designs for this 1994 Tour, and this is indeed one of them - if not " The! Plus, in a lot of ways too - this Shirt also represents the grand finale of a " Complete " Touring-Year for the Band, as'95 was only a Touring-Year that included Winter, Spring & Summer - with no Fall / Winter Tours.
What a late-Tour this was for both! The Band & Dead Fans! With still many of those essential Moments of Magic!!! At numerous dates & runs throughout this Tour. The' California-Kickoff' gotta love that tradition! Happened at our beloved Cal Expo, followed by a Monumental! " Return " to Seattle 1st time in over 10-years?
3-Triumphant Nights at Eugene's Mighty Autzen Stadium... The Very-Proud Home of the Ducks! The West Coast Tour leg wrapped-up with a fine 3-night " Pre-July 4th " stand - " Dead at the Dump " style at Shoreline! Where a Music > Sugaree > Music even went down! Then it was off Back-East with a very-rare Vermont!
The Nation's Capital was treated to 2-Shows at Good Ol' R. And from there, the Band was fortunate enough to book a 3-night run at Deer Creek - quite possibly everyone's favorite " East of the Mississippi " Outdoor Amphitheatre! Then, up north to the Windy-City for 2 at Mighty-Soldiers Field! Followed by two very-rare appearances in Missouri, at the Riverport Amp.Then, one Last & Final trip to Buckeye Lake! " where the convenience store signs would sometimes even read " Welcome Deadheads...
And then it was time for the other two staples of Chicago - New York - Detroit - it's all on the Same Street... ", with 2 at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan - followed up by 2 more at the mighty & truly-giant " Giants Stadium!! Fortunately too, the' overall' Tour vs. City / Venue problems were still kept to an overall minimum, and this Tour was definitely viewed looking back... As an indeed successful one. Where has 1995, unfortunately not so much the case - as we all are well aware. Personally, I had no idea this would be the last time I would ever see the Sun-Shine! Just two-weeks apart between Autzen & Shoreline runs... Which to this day, still remain two of my personal favorite places on the Earth! Neither, will ever be just' quite' the same without our beloved Grateful Dead! So, I guess at least to me... All of these very-fine memories is what this incredible Grateful Dead 1994 Summer Tour speaks, says & represents. & naturally - Enjoy all the Nice Shirt! Compliments coming down the pike too!! Simply one of the Best! Of the'90's, and this particular-on - as the photos very well show, is just Spectacular! Pit-to-Pit = 24" Length = 32" As this is a lightly used and very well taken care of shirt - here are the only issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> some cracking of the design image emblems (please see photos/close-up photos).>>> some light fading of the design image emblems and shirt material fabric dyes (please see photos/close-up photos). >>> a loose stitch on the inside of the back left collar seam (please see photos/close-up photos).
