As hopefully you are Smiling! Ear-to-ear right now seeing this Classic! Early 1990's Mardi Shirt - as this my fellow Dead Fans...
Was one heck of an Oakland run!! So glad I made all of these Shows, as this was indeed the 1993 Grateful Dead " Mardi Gras " Oakland Coliseum stand where Ornette Coleman was not only the opening act, but he also came out to played with the Dead!! Then, to the surprise of most (who were in their seats on time for the opener) Jerry Garcia even came out to play with Ornette during his opening performance!!! I saw this show & the only other time I saw Jerry do that was with Sting in'93 at RFK!! This shirt is a very special one, for certain. There is also a BGP Poster with this same design as well (w/ blue background). I personally really dig this one because not only does it feature that distinctive Rock'n Roll black T-shirt look (or the " Jerry " look, if I may) - but it truly makes this awesome design really " pop " right off of this shirt like no other color really would. And obviously, what a great design - a true classic & eye-catcher too! For what it's worth...
I always thought this was one of the Sweetest! Dead Shirts of the'90's Era... Featuring the same art design theme on both the Shirt and the Poster! - long before this really becoming in " fashion " in the Live Rock & Roll scene. I mean hey, much like everything in Live Rock & Roll...
Just leave it to the Good Ol' Grateful Dead!!! - and even in the 1990's!! Enjoy this Truly-Classic Dead Shirt!!!! This is a Lightly Used Vintage Original Collectible-clothing item from 1993 in Excellent! Tag Size / Brand : Large (L) / Brockum (100% Cotton / Made in USA) Pit-to-Pit = 21" Length = 23" As this is a very lightly used and very well taken care of shirt - here are the only issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> light creasing/cracking of the design image emblems (please see photos). >>> very light fading of shirt material fabric (please see photos). Please see all photos provided..
