Period in the midst, and arguably the overall Best! The Boys had ever been... In the opinion of many Dead Fans. So, with the occasion at hand - Reonegro well-knew it was time to deliver a Huge! And my goodness did he Deliver! In the fantastic form of the Grateful Dead " 25th Anniversary " Top Hat & Sunglasses... And keep in mind too - on the timeline here, for sure - as at this specific point in time...
Reonegro had yet to even begin delivering his Amazingly-Artistic line of Backstage Passes for the Grateful Dead... As his 1st " Puzzle Pass " didn't even debut until months later - on the Massive! Just check out the photos provided, my fellow Dead Fans and Rock & Roll Art Lovers - as this is one that Purely! Grateful Dead " New Year's " Shirts of all-time...But I also consider it to be one of the overall Coolest!! I mean after all - this is an' early' G. Reonegro we are talking about here who started doing Shirt Designs for the Dead right around the 1988 Spring Tour... And, by the end of 1989 -- This!!! Talk about a quickly Artistic learning curve - wow... Giving the Dead Fans what they want, and in pure Late-'80's & Early-'90's style & fashion! What makes this Shirt really-really neat, rare & highly-collectible in the Rock & Roll Vintage World - is that this is a design where Reonegro went with a " Graffiti " theme in the concept - making the world " Grateful " and the background design... Just look simply amazing to the Rock & Roll and Art eye -- a Stunning!
Effort by Antonio Reonegro here... Skeleton would later even make it on to some Grateful Dead Backstage Passes for the 1990 Summer & Fall Tours - but, the design form was different, without the Graffiti style...So, naturally - this was the 1st & the Debut! Sure makes this Fan miss his Oaktown Shows... And my Good Ol''80's &'90's Grateful Dead too - right smack dab in Oaktown!!! Pit to Pit = 21" Length = 27" As this is a heavily used vintage-worn collectible rock shirt, here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection : >>> three (3) small-medium sized holes; one (1) located on left front sleeve, and two (2) located on shirt back - near collar area (please see photos/photos #8 & #11). >>> stains and discoloration fading spots on shirt material fabric (please see photos/photos #9 & #10).
Cracking/fading of design image emblems (please see photos). Heavy fading of shirt material fabric dyes (please see photos).
